acer8inch

On their website Acer has now revealed the full details of their much leaked Acer Iconia W3 8 inch Windows 8 tablet.

The full specs of the device is:

  • Windows 8 Pro – Intel® Atom™Z2760
  • 8" WXGA (1280×768) Multi-Touch LCD
  • 2 GB Memory
  • eMMC64GB storage
  • Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 3650
  • 802.11 b/g/n & BT
  • 2M FHD STD
  • BT4.0
  • Micro HDMI
  • Micro-USB 2.0 port
  • 8 hours
  • Silver
  • 1 Year Carry In warranty

Acer notes the WXGA resolution means snapping will not be supported for Metro apps, but of course we expect Windows Blue to fix this issue.

Acer touts the device as a PC companion that is able to sync with your main laptop or desktop using Windows 8’s cloud features, and as ideal for both play and work, though its attached keyboard accessory.

Interestingly they also say the tablet will come with Microsoft Office, which is not normally included with Windows 8 Pro.

While Acer revealed all about the handset, they did not unfortunately reveal the price, but it has previously been rumoured in the $399 range.

See all the details at Acer here.

Thanks Karthik for the tip.

    Why not Bay Trail ?

    It’s the future right ?

    • Drewidian

Right. I’m going to wait for the Baytrail device with USB 3.0. If they bump up the display to 1366×768, I’d get one for sure. At my job we are evaluating Dell Latitude 10s and its almost a desktop replacement for our average users. Supposedly by the fall they will have a new version with a new desktop dock that will support up to 3 external full HD monitors and an optional KB dock with battery. If they have an 8 inch version with similar specs and a similar price, I will recommend we replace our laptop purchases with one of these fully loaded.

crazy that this doesn’t use next gen processors due out at the end of the month I guess they’re clearing out inventory or something?

  • leo lozano

if they release it at 399.99 is DOA
People get 8″ not for office but for consumption, worse it’s more expensive than an apple mini and twice a kindle.
Old components, missing features, wrong prices, and they wonder why their sales are down

Perfect little device to masturbate to pictures of my friend’s mum’s clitoris.

I guess its preloaded Office is in fact just Office 365 with 1-month free trial.
