Acer Says Ultrabook Prices Will Drop To $799-899 In 2Q12

Digitimes reports that according to Acer President Jim Wong, Ultrabooks prices will drop  from $1,000 currently to $799-899 in the second quarter of 2012. He also added that the prices of Ultrabooks will further drop to $499 in 2013 as a result of mass production from laptop OEM’s.

Acer currently ships 100,000 ultrabooks each month and is expected to achieve its goal of shipping 250,000-300,000 units by the end of 2011.

    I wish they can sell more ultrabook than apple does macbooks air… cheaper and better :S

    Geez Acer, that doesn’t exactly make me want to buy one your $1,000 ultrabooks right now if they will be half the price in a year or two.  Honestly, I like the direction of Ultrabooks but I already decided to hold off for at least Ivy Bridge if not Haswell.
