Microsoft has released a number of new themes and wallpapers for Windows 8/RT devices. All these themes are based on landscapes of various countries including Alaska, New Zealand ,Sweden, etc,. They have also added a new tab to the Desktop backgrounds page, specifically for panoramic wallpapers. If you have Windows 8 or Windows RT, these wallpapers will automatically extend across dual monitors that have the same resolution setting. The first is a tour of Queenstown and the surrounding landscape, including the shores of Lake Wakatipu and views of the Kawarau and Shotover rivers. The other, and my new favorite, is a walk through the lush greenery of One Tree Hill Doman and the adjoining Cornwall Park, in Auckland, New Zealand. We have seen multiple reports in the past that Microsoft is planning to release a 8-inch Surface RT device this year. Digitimes today reported some more information about the upcoming device. They expect 8-inch Surface RT device will be launched in June with the price tag between US$249-299 and a 10.x-inch model as early as the third quarter of 2013. The 8-inch Surface will use touch panels supplied by Samsung Electronics and Nvidia-developed processors, and Taiwan-based ODM Pegatron will be responsible for production, the sources said. HP today announced a new Windows 8 hybrid device called Split X2. The Split x2 comes with 13.3 diagonal HD touchscreen display powered by Intel Core processors. The keyboard dock comes with an optional hard disk which gives you expanded storage capacity. Also there are two batteries, one in the tablet and another in the keyboard. If you are a Microsoft OneNote user, you must have used password protected section. This section of OneNote allows you to store some important notes in a password protected environment. OneNote web app got updated today with support for accessing password-protected sections. Accessing password-protected sections was one of the most requested features for the OneNote Web App. Enabling this feature allows you to access your sensitive information from anywhere. After opening a password-protected section, you can edit its contents, change the section color, create new pages, and even edit the section name. After using a password-protected section, you can manually re-enable password protection by selecting Lock Section in the right click menu. Microsoft reported that people searches are the second most searched for category, after navigational queries, and represent roughly 10 percent of all searches on Bing.
