There is a new report from Computerworld claiming that Microsoft won’t be unveiling the much anticipated Surface Mini device at the press event scheduled later today in the US. Since last month, we have seen various reports from Bloomberg to Neowin claiming that Microsoft will reveal a ARM based Surface Mini device that will include Stylus support. Microsoft is also expected to reveal a bigger Surface Pro device that will start with Intel Core i3 CPU/64GB for $799 to Intel Core i7/512GB for $1899. Today, Computerworld reports that Microsoft won’t be revealing a Surface Mini device. Instead, Microsoft will reveal a Surface Pro device with large screen targeting the enterprise and pro customers. The anticipated Surface, which many had assumed would be a device with a 7- or 8-in. screen — dubbed by wags as the “Surface Mini” — will, in fact, not be unveiled Tuesday at Microsoft’s New York ...

Earlier today, we reported that Google is going to acquire Twitch game streaming service for about $1 billion. Twitch is extremely popular among gamers and has over 45 million monthly users. Now, The Verge reports that Twitch chose Google over Microsoft amid multiple buyout offers. They believed that Google’s YouTube would be a greater fit for their strategy as Microsoft may restrict them to Xbox after the deal. Also, they expect Google to help them scale after the acquisition to meet the demands of the gamers. Microsoft and others have made serious approaches to Twitch, said the person, but YouTube was deemed the better fit. It’s unlikely that the gamer-friendly Twitch would have wanted any part of a deal that would tie the service to Xbox, as it’s embedded in Sony’s rival PlayStation console as well. A source familiar with the deal says that Twitch likely would have rejected a ...
