Speaking to GeekWire,  John Case, a Microsoft Office corporate vice president for marketing hinted about the next generation app experiences that is coming soon from the Office team. He highlighted the fact that the OneNote app which was added as a completely new app to Office suite in 2003 is now being used by millions of people. “We’ll do more things like that, that will be about different form factors and different applications,” he said. “The Office suite has been very consistent. Microsoft Surface is the official tablet for NFL sports event in the US. There were lots of marketing going around NFL for Surface in the past few months. The Surface logo and visuals have been a visible addition to all the games this past season, showing up on the sidelines on the communication carts and instant replay hoods. During the major re-organization announced last year at Microsoft, Applications and Services Group was one of the major division. Applications and Services Group is now headed by Qi Lu who was formerly responsible for Bing and related services at Microsoft. As Microsoft and Nokia are close to completing the acquisition deal, both the companies are aligning themselves to start working on respective companies from Day 1 once the deal is completed. Nokia has already started reporting Devices and Services division under separate category in its financial reports. Nokia’s HERE team, CTO office has moved to different campus in Finland. Microsoft is also making some changes to accommodate the incoming Nokia group. The main change is that Stephen Elop will become the EVP of Devices division at Microsoft. Currently, Julie Larson-Green is looking after that job at Microsoft, and since the deal is close to completion, she is now moving on to new role at Microsoft. Larson-Green will become chief experience officer for products including Bing, Office and Skype, among others products. Microsoft today released an update for OneNote app for Windows 8 devices in Windows Store. To celebrate and begin their transition to OneDrive in their products, they are releasing a small update to the OneNote Windows Store App for Windows 8.1 users. First of all, they have added support for over 66 new languages. Support for the OneDrive service. Rule line heights have been increased to accommodate larger handwriting.   To enable Rule Lines, bring up the page app bar (right-click the page, or swipe from the top or bottom of the screen), then select Paper.  Now you can choose between Rule Lines or Grid Lines.
