Microsoft today updated their Bing Desktop app with Facebook feeds support. Bing Desktop brings the beauty of the Bing homepage to your Windows desktop each day. Also you can do Bing searches via the desktop search bar or from the Windows taskbar without having to first open a browser. Bing Desktop automatically updates daily the Windows desktop background image to the beautiful image that is on the Bing.com homepage. The user may override the image of the day by manually selecting a different image from the prior eight days. Yesterday, there were reports that Microsoft is ending its Scroogled campaign against Google. Microsoft responded to those reports that they are not going to stop this campaign and asked us to stay tuned for next chapter of the campaign. Microsoft’s statement, “Scroogled will go on as long as Google keeps Scroogling people. We know Google doesn’t like it when the facts come out. Chapter two of the consumer education campaign has shown people care about their privacy. In new Office, Microsoft has introduced a way for 3rd party developers to create apps for Office suite using web technologies. Microsoft’s Bing has released five Bing Apps for Office including: Bing Finance for Excel, Bing Maps for Excel, Bing Image Search for Word, Bing News Search for Word and Bing Dictionary for Excel and Word. comScore released its monthly comScore qSearch analysis of the U.S. search marketplace few days back. In December, 69.1% of searches carried results from Google, while 25.6% of searches were powered by Bing. It is important to note that Bing powered searches were up 0.2% percentage points. Microsoft Bing today announced the new improved Image search experience. Microsoft updated its Bing Image search experience with new look few months back and now they are improving it even further. The new design brings a new image viewer that allows you to browse images with fast and ease in a clean UI. We completely redesigned the image viewer, putting the spotlight on the picture and stripping out anything that got in the way.
