As per previous reports, Microsoft was expected to shutdown its Games for Windows Live service on July 1st. Last year, Microsoft ended the PC marketplace on Games for Windows Live service. While Microsoft’s own studios like Twisted Pixel Games have started to port their multiplayer gaming, achievements and other supports to steam, everyone expected the service to down at any point of time this year. However, Microsoft today responded to Game Informer that they are continuing to support the Games for Windows Live service and they remain committed to PC gaming in the coming years. For the full 90 minutes of press briefing, Microsoft talked about all the first party and 3rd party games coming to Xbox platform. The surprising part was that Microsoft didn’t even talk about games on Windows and Windows Phone platforms. Phil Spencer is the head of gaming at Microsoft, which includes games on Xbox, Windows and Windows Phone platforms.
