In recent years, Intel was promoting perceptual computing using external camera that can be connected to laptops and desktops. At IDF, Today Kirk Skaugen from Intel announced that built-in 3D cameras will be coming to laptops and desktops some time 2nd half of 2014 and will be based on Intel’s Broadwell ships. Intel’s new CEO Brian Krzanich yesterday kicked off Intel Developer Forum by revealing some new details about the upcoming Intel chips. He showed off a laptop running the upcoming Broadwell chip architecture on stage during a keynote at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) today. This broadwell chips will offer upto 30 percent improvements in PC power efficiency when it launches by the end of next year. Also this chip will enable fanless powerful Windows based devices.   Lenovo is updating its successful Yoga model. The new model is called Yoga 2 Pro and it is thinner(15mm thick) and lighter (1.39kg) than the previous models. The Yoga 2 Pro will come up to Intel’s 4th generation Core i7 U series processors. The main highlight is the 13.3-inch IPS 178° wide angle, 16:9 QHD+ 10 point touchscreen, that has a screen resolution of 3200 x 1800. Toshiba today announced no.of Windows 8 based devices. Along with their first 8-inch device Encore and low cost touch laptop Satellite NB15t, they announced a new detachable laptop called SATELLITE CLICK. Click comes with a 13.3-inch display which can be detached from the keyboard base to use it as a tablet. It will be powered by AMD A4 Accelerated Processing Unit with AMD Radeon 8000 graphics performance. AMD is claiming that these chips offer performance equivalent to that of Intel Core i3 processors. It also comes with 500GB hard drive and batteries on both tablet and keyboard dock. Battery life is expected to be around 3-4 hours for tablet only mode and 5-6 hours when attached with dock. CNET today reported that Toshiba will be revealing their first 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet branded as Encore at IFA. This new 8-inch tablet will be one of the first few devices that will be based on Intel Bay Trail-T processor. Intel Bay Trail processors are the next generation Atom processors that will offer 2x performance on the current generation Atom chips with more battery life.
