Konami has recently published their plans for their next major release, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes on next generation consoles. MGS5 will run at a native 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second on the Sony PS4 but just 720p at 60 fps on Microsoft’s Xbox One. This is not the first time where a major game developer opts for a lower resolution gameplay, we have seen similar actions from Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc. Microsoft on its part always declined to accept that Xbox One is under powered when compared to PS4. Microsoft have their own example like Forza which runs 1080p on Xbox One. Current Gen / Next Gen Comparison Chart  for MGS5(resolution, frame) PlayStation®3 PlayStation®4 Xbox 360® Xbox One resolution 720P (Scaling internally) 1080P 720P (Scaling internally) 720P frame 30fps 60fps 30fps 60fps Microsoft’s comments on lack of 1080p on several games in Xbox One, “I think the ...

This FAA authorization will allow airlines to use Surface for their actual work anytime. Through this authorization process, we’ve completed rigorous environmental and situational testing of the Surface 2 tablet, streamlining the approval process when airline operators want to use Surface 2 tablets as a Class 1 EFB during flight operations. Speaking to The Guardian, UK Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude revealed that UK government is planning to switch its productivity suite from Microsoft Office to some Open source solutions. UK government spends tens of millions of pounds a year to Microsoft and other software companies for using their software and they are looking to cut those costs. He believes that costs would come down by switching to software which can produce open-source files in the “open document format” (ODF), such as OpenOffice and Google Docs. I agree with OpenOffice in his argument, but Google Docs? Speaking at a cross-government event showcasing new online services on Wednesday, Maude will say: “The software we use in government is still supplied by just a few large companies. A tiny oligopoly dominates the marketplace. “I want to see a greater range of software used, so civil servants have access to the information they need ...

Samsung Electronics has set a goal of shipping seven million notebooks globally in 2014, a reduction of 41.67% from the 12 million units shipped in 2013, and will no longer launch conventional notebook models except Chromebooks in 2015, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers. Samsung aimed to ship 17 million notebooks in 2013 but actually shipped 12 million units, the sources said. On a related note, Asus notebook shipments are expected to reach 20 million units in 2014, up from 18.5 million units in 2013. Source: Digitimes ...
