Microsoft today released couple of ads to promote Surface devices by comparing them with the competing Apple iPad. The first ad shows the usage of tablets in the cooking scenario. If you want to use a tablet while cooking, Surface is a perfect device for you. Why? Surface comes with built-in Kickstand while you need to purchase separate case for iPad to make it stand straight. Also, the cooking app in the Surface works with gestures allowing you to turn your recipe pages with a wave of your hand. In iPad, you should shout at your tablet with voice commands which often fails. The second ad shows the scenario where a single tablet is shared among the family. In the case of Surface, you can create multiple user accounts with separate login and personalized environment. In Apple iPad, you always have one account and one home screen for all. What ...

Designers from design consultancy company Teague have reviewed the Sony PS4 design. Teague designed the original Xbox, conceptualized controllers for the Xbox brand, and created the Xbox 360 racing wheel. The review just focuses on the industrial design of the PS4. The console got some positive news, they commented that PS4 is a good-looking, nicely proportioned console that fits well into the modern living room. The controller and the design connection between controller and the console was criticized. Creative Director David Wykes commented that Sony’s controller looks like a piece of clay that’s been worked with too much. It’s always a challenge to design two functionally apposed objects to look like they’ve been born from the same creator; one a box to be quietly placed, admired, and left alone, the other a controller to be held and beaten into submission.  But the controller is the main touch point for the console; ...

First, it listened to your voice command through Kinect to wake up the machine, then again it used Kinect’s skeleton tracking/facing recognition to login to your personal profile. And all under 13 seconds in just an impressive thing. If you are more into privacy issues, you can as usual power on your Xbox One using your controller. Watch the video above. Last night, there were lots of tweets about Sony’s updated PS4 usage terms. People referred the below point listed there on Sony’s website. 7.1. You must not resell either Disc-based Software or Software Downloads, unless expressly authorised by us and, if the publisher is another company, additionally by the publisher. While the above terms may sound like Sony will not allow people to resell their games with others, it is not the case. The terms were always like this, even for PS3 it was the same. If Sony wants to restrict used games on PS4, they would have not started a marketing campaign against Microsoft which announced the controversial DRM policy which was later dropped. I’m sure Xbox One’s usage terms will also be similar to PS4. But the fact is, Microsoft and Sony will allow people to resell their used games, etc,. At the same time, Microsoft has once ...

Microsoft has added Blu-ray disc support in Xbox One, but that doesn’t mean that Microsoft will also support 3D Blu-ray playback. First of all, there are very few 3D Blu-ray content available right now and it can be played only on a appropriate 3D TV setup. However, people with lots of 3D Blu-ray content would be disappointed at this news. According to Sony,  the PS4 system supports 3D gameplay at launch in North America on day one, though no launch titles are currently 3D compatible. Source: CNET ...

Microsoft’s ads to promote Internet Explorer in the recent few years were appreciated by many. Microsoft is trying to make the ‘IE’ brand cool again which lost its mojo in the IE6 days. Even though Internet Explorer 10 and Internet Explorer 11 are the fastest browsers, most of the people’s views on it are still on the negative side. Microsoft released a new ad featuring Inori Aizawa, a feisty anime few days back to promote IE. Read the following message and watch the video, you will understand Microsoft’s message. Hey everyone!
