As Microsoft announced earlier, as part of the Games with Gold for Xbox Live Gold members for the month of September, two new games are now available for free from Xbox Store. Super Time Force for Xbox One and Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine for Xbox 360 are now available for free.  Super Time Force is coming to Games with Gold on Xbox One as a free download, replacing Strike Suit Zero. Crimson Dragon will continue to be available for Xbox Live Gold members as a free download for Xbox One. Based on the report from Android Police, HTC is planning to release a smart cover/keyboard accessory similar to Surface touch/type covers for their upcoming Android based tablet. This accessory measures approximately 228 x 320 x 5 mm, making it a very thin keyboard. The actual keys are apparently around 3mm high, and it seems that the key pitch is around 15mm. It has a standard QWERTY layout plus “Android function keys.” As you can see from the image above, “the segmented areas of the cover flap will fold up into a triangle using magnets, supporting the tablet while it is propped up to use the keyboard. Net Applications today released their latest worldwide browser market share stats for the month of August. Internet Explorer market share is now at 58.24%. Among the Internet Explorer versions, IE11 showed a modest growth by increasing to 17.45% from 16.78%. Internet Explorer 8 remains the most popular browser in the market with about 21.4% market share. Developer’s nightmare IE6 is continuing to lose market share and expect the number to go down in the coming months as Microsoft has ended the support for Windows XP in which it was the default browser. New numbers from Net Applications for the month of August revealed that Windows 8/8.1 is back on growing path after it saw a slight decline last month. Windows 7 continues to dominate at the top with the OS now over 51.21% market share, down from 51.11 percent in July. Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 combined is now at 13.37% up from 12.48% last month. Windows XP saw a slight decrease to 23.89% down from 24.821% last month. Mac OS X currently holds a 4.29% share, while Linux holds a 1.67% share. Windows Vista still holds a market share of 3.02%. After few months of nearly flat growth, Windows 8/Windows 8.1 is now back with the right momentum. As you all know, Chinese government has started an anti-trust investigation against Microsoft’s business practices in China. Hundreds of Chinese government officials conducted raids to Microsoft offices in China to investigate this issue. Today, Chinese government agency SAIC (State Administration for Industry and Commerce) has announced that they have given 20 days for Microsoft to respond to their allegations. They believe that Microsoft didn’t provide enough information regarding Microsoft Windows and Office that lead to compatibility issues for consumers. Hundreds of nude photos of celebrities were posted online today on 4Chan. These images came online via a hacker who reportedly got these images by intruding into number of Apple iCloud accounts and iPhone devices. Nude images of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence Victoria Justice, Emily Browning, Kate Bosworth, Jenny McCarthy and Kate Upton were made public already and the hacker is claiming that he has more photos of celebrities and provided the following list of names. One of the most awaited improvements on Microsoft’s online storage service OneDrive was the individual file size limit. It was limited to 2GB for years. Microsoft already acknowledged that they are working to increase the file size limit and now they have finally done it. Many OneDrive users on Reddit are now reporting that files of sizes more than 2GB are now getting synced on their OneDrive. Microsoft may confirm this change in the coming days. At the O’Reilly Open Source Convention (OSCON), Microsoft announced their partnerships with Packer.io and OpenNebula to enable interoperability of applications and services with Windows Azure and Hyper-V. Similarly in July, Microsoft announced their work on Docker’s libswarm project and Kubernetes, two cluster-management solutions available for Docker containers, and several other open source cloud projects. Since their announcement, The Microsoft Open Technologies engineering team has been hard at work bringing Docker and Kubernetes support to Microsoft Azure.
