According to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter, Xbox outsold both Sony and Nintendo in September sales of both hardware and software. He estimated that Microsoft sold 360,000 Xbox 360 units in the U.S. last month while Sony sold 260,000 PS3 units and Nintendo sold 190,000 Wii units. A similar case goes for the software numbers too. According to the estimates Xbox 360 software sales hit $306 million last month, easily eclipsing the PlayStation 3’s $165 million in sales. Gematsu has spotted several LinkedIn profiles of Microsoft employees who are working on this future platform. From Gematsu, Jeff Faulkner is acting as the “Xbox Next Gen Creative Director,” according to his profile. “Senior Creative Director for Xbox,” currently “designing the next generation of entertainment,” is Jonathan Harris, linked here. Windows Azure, Microsoft’s Cloud Computing platform beats its rivals Amazon EC2 and Google App Engine in Cloud speed tests. Reuters report that “sources close to the situation” say on this occasion Microsoft may not go it alone, but attempt a purchase in partnership with another company, as has been their pattern recently. According to Boston Consulting Group’s recent consumer survey, People prefer Windows on their tablets more than others. This survey includes Chinese and US consumers. Over 42% of US consumers prefer Windows over iOS or Android on their tablets. This clearly states the power of Windows brand. When ATD confirmed the survey results, they got the following response, “When we survey consumers, it becomes very clear that Windows is still a very popular brand,” she said.
