Back in 2012, Microsoft announced a new programming language called TypeScript in order to get JavaScript development to scale. JavaScript was originally introduced as a client-side scripting language for web pages limited to its Document Object Model (DOM). TypeScript is a language for application-scale JavaScript development. TypeScript is a typed superset of JavaScript that compiles to plain JavaScript. Microsoft India today announced that they have established a Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Chair at the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU). Microsoft expects that this new IPR chair will foster continuous research, academic collaboration and capacity building in Intellectual Property laws and policies. Microsoft announced Windows Azure services for Japan last year, today Microsoft announced that Windows Azure in Japan East (Saitama Prefecture) and Japan West (Osaka Prefecture), will be generally available later Tuesday. Microsoft highlighted that fact that storage usage for Windows Azure has grown 10x in the last 15 months in Japan along and this Azure Services availability in Japan will serve the purpose well for these customers. Many Xbox One users were disappointed to hear that Twitch integration in Xbox One was excluded from the launch time frame. But it is coming early next month, just in time for Titanfall launch. Orange SA Chief Executive Stephane Richard said in an interview with French television channel BFM TV that Dailymotion is in talks with Microsoft for a partnership. Dailymotion is one of the largest video portals in the world but trails Google’s YouTube significantly. “Talks continue…with Microsoft,” Mr. Richard said, according to a transcript of the BFM interview provided by Orange, who confirmed the comments. “This doesn’t mean that we will reach an agreement.” He also confirmed that this is not an acquisition, the partnership with Microsoft would be foremost “industrial” and Orange would likely maintain a majority stake in Dailymotion.
