Just few hours before the official release, Samsung’s Windows 8 offerings info got leaked. The Verge today posted photos of Samsung ATIV Tab And ATIV Smart PC Tablets. Samsung ATIV Tab is the Windows RT based tablet with 8.9mm thick and 570g weight. It will have a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with a 5mp camera & 1.9-megapixel FF camera. It will come with USB, uHDMI port and Office 2013 pre-installed. ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro are 11.6-inch tablets with a keyboard dock and S Pen input technology.  It will support 10-finger multitouch, full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel screem. ATIV Smart PC is expected to have an Intel Atom processor, while the ATIV Smart PC Pro to sport an Intel Core i5 chip. As Windows 8 launch is getting closer, we are going to be amazed by the different form factors PC OEMs are going to reveal. Microsoft showcased its Windows 8 product called Surface which will come in both ARM and x86 versions. Samsung teased us with a video and their products will be announced at IFA, Berlin. Windows 8 will go on sale from Oct-26th through retail stores and OEM devices. According to The Verge, Windows 8 Pro will be priced at $199 after a promotional price of $69.99 expires on January 31st 2013 in retail stores. Previously Microsoft has announced that consumers will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 from their existing Windows Vista, Windows 7 PCs by buying Windows 8 on a price of $39.99. Microsoft worked with major PC OEMs to provide a new touchpad experience that incorporates new Windows 8 gestures.   Microsoft today detailed the work it has been doing with PC OEMs for building next generation Windows 8 and Windows RT based devices. Microsoft also announced that we can expect ARM-based PC designs from Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung running Windows RT this year. Also Microsoft said that all of these Windows RT PCs will have consistent fast and fluidtouch interactions, long battery life, connected standby, and are beautiful, thin, and light designs. Microsoft also said that you can expect 8 hours to 13 hours of scenario run time of HD Video Playback on Windows RT machines. Pulse, one of the famous news reader apps available across multiple mobile platforms today launched their web version. Microsoft worked with the Pulse team to optimize their new web experience on IE10. The end result is kind of amazing that really showcases the power of the web. The whole site is hardware accelerated with support for touch gestures as well. Pinching the Pulse home screen will result in the entire page resizing fluidly to add content. A “stick-to-your-finger” experience with every swipe, loading the next news article in the queue. Additionally, on touch PCs and tablets, IE10 allows a two finger side-swipe to bring your reading pane into view, giving Pulse users an easy and fluid access to the content they care about (something their app doesn’t even do).
