HP today announced two business focused laptops running Windows 8.1. The two new devices are EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 and EliteBook Revolve G2. EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 comes with machined aluminum body, 14-inch display that weighs 3.3 pounds 15.9mm thinner. It is powered by Intel 4th gen processor and offers upto 10 hours battery life. You can choose between 1,600 x 900 or 1,920 x 1,080 display with an optional touchscreen option. It comes with Synaptics’ ForcePad trackpad technology, military’s MIL-STD 810G specifications support, Intel vPro processors, fingerprint sensor and a Smart Card reader. Ted Dworkin, the director of program management of Windows Store in Windows 8 and Jensen Harris, the director of program management for the Windows User Experience have moved to new roles in Bing team within Microsoft. During an investor meeting in Santa Clara, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich revealed that Bay Trail tablets with a 64-bit version of Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 will be released in the first quarter next year.
