During the earnings call, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke about the Windows OS and the first-party devices and he said that Microsoft is approaching the Windows OS business with a bold, challenger mindset and pushing both the product and business model forward. He highlighted the fact that Windows licenses are zero dollars for any OEM building a device less than nine inches and also added a low-cost Windows offering with Bing integration for OEMs. These changes are expected to bring Windows tablets and clamshells at lower price points. Microsoft vision of one Windows for all devices started few years back. First, they started their work on unifying the core of the OS and it became evident from the release of Windows Phone 8. Windows Phone 8 is based on the same NT core on which Windows 8 is built. It enabled OEMs to write one driver for both their phones and other devices running Windows. At Worldwide Partner Conference held today, Microsoft highlighted their IoT platform, Microsoft Azure Machine Learning, and Microsoft Azure Intelligent Systems Service. These services will allow enterprises to use devices and sensors with the Intelligent Systems Service, to harness, analyze and utilize data. Last year, Microsoft started delivering the Kinect for Windows v2 Developer Preview kits to thousands of participants.  The Developer Preview included a pre-release Kinect for Windows v2 sensor, access to the new generation Kinect for Windows software development kit (SDK), as well as ongoing updates and access to private program forums. Microsoft today updated their Skype app in Windows Store. In April, Microsoft announced that their group video calling experience free to existing platforms, with additional device support coming soon. Today, with this app update, they are bringing the feature to Windows tablets and Windows 2 in 1 devices. Watch the video demo above to see how it works. Microsoft Research today spoke about their Project Adam at the Microsoft Research Faculty Summit. It is an state of an art machine learning and artificial intelligence program that enable softwares to visually recognize any object. Project Adam and its object classification is built on a massive dataset of 14 million images from the Web and sites such as Flickr, made up of more than 22,000 categories drawn from user-generated tags by Microsoft resesarcher Trishul Chilimbi  and his team. Microsoft claims that this program is twice more accurate in its object recognition and 50 times faster than other systems.
