Windows Store was launched along with Windows 8 almost one year ago. Windows Store allows users to download apps developed on modern UI on their Windows 8/Windows 8.1 machines. According to latest data from Microsoft, Windows Store racked up roughly 1.7 million daily downloads, both free and paid, in October(around 51.2 million applications totally). This is a 38.56% increase in numbers since June. While this numbers may look good when you look at it independently, it pales in comparison with Apple App Store and Google Play Store. I’m not drawing any conclusions from these numbers since Windows Store is an year old entity while Apple App Store has been over there for almost 5 years. With the launch of Windows 8.1 and many touch screen devices in the market, I hope Windows Store downloads accelerates over ...

Often we come across comparisons of Microsoft Surface with Apple iPad. While both of them are meant to be tablets, Microsoft Surface running Windows RT is much more powerful than an Apple iPad. When you compare recently released Apple iPad Air and Microsoft Surface 2, I think Surface 2 offers lot more value to most of the consumers with full web browser support, USB port and kickstand built-in and more. This fan made video released yesterday shows the capabilities of Surface 2. In this video I show off my favorite features in the Microsoft Surface 2, with windows 8.1 RT. I show off voice control (windows speech recognition), multiple monitor support, and a variety of accessories via USB hub (including external hard drive, mouse, keyboard, and Xbox 360 controller integration). I show how I connect the Surface 2 to my HDTV as well as wireless casting of music and video! ...
