Few hours back, we reported that Windows 8.1 Update 1 build can be downloaded from official Microsoft servers by a simple registry tweak. This update also includes the updated version of Internet Explorer 11 that will include a new feature called ‘Enterprise Mode’. The last major version of Microsoft’s graphics platform DirectX 11 was announced about 6 years back. Since then the desktop graphics API development has stagnated. Yesterday, we reported that Microsoft Windows had 2.1% of the worldwide tablet market with a total of 4 million units sold in 2013 according to Gartner. Microsoft is already working towards driving more sales volume. One such strategy is to produce low cost and high value devices. At MWC, Microsoft announced that they are reducing the hardware requirements of Windows for tablets in an effort to reduce the price of Windows tablets. Just yesterday we reported that two of the Microsoft’s EVPs are leaving the company. The two people leaving are Tony Bates and Tami Reller. Tony Bates is currently the executive vice president of Microsoft’s Business Development and Evangelism group, responsible for the company’s relationships with key OEMs, strategic innovation partners, independent software vendors and developers. Before joining Microsoft through Skype acquisition, he held various positions including one at Cisco.  Tami Reller is currently executive vice president of Microsoft’s Marketing group, responsible for marketing to consumers and businesses globally. Microsoft confirmed the news today with a letter from CEO Satya Nadella to employees.
