Microsoft last week announced that Xbox One users in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain will be able to experience premium live TV features on Xbox One, such as the ability to access your favorite shows and channels with the sound of your voice through the OneGuide, with the new Xbox One Digital TV Tuner.  The new digital TV tuner will also support free-to-air DVB-T, DVB-T2 and DVB-C television standards. The most notable thing in this announcement is that this device is not coming to the US. Also, it may not be coming to the US anytime soon due to licensing restrictions by TV providers such as Comcast. Last year, Microsoft announced that all Xbox One retail units can be used as dev kits in the future so that anyone can become a Xbox developer. During ID@Xbox program launch, Microsoft said, “As part of our vision for enabling everyone with an Xbox One to be a creator, we absolutely intend to enable people to develop games using their retail kits. Right now, though, you still need a development kit! We provide two kits to everyone in the registered developer program. Additional kits, if needed, can be purchased.” It’s been a year since Microsoft announced their plans to make any game development on any Xbox One unit, but they have not delivered yet. Earlier this week, Microsoft surprised everyone by announcing that Rise of the Tomb Raider game will be exclusive to Xbox One. This game will be available next year for the holiday season. Last year, Microsoft revealed their limited edition white Xbox One console, Kinect and controller. Those limited edition console was not for public sale and it was limited to Microsoft’s IEB employees. Microsoft was even auctioning one of those console for the good. Last month, a French retailer Micromania listed white Xbox One on their website with the launch date in October.
