Dell Launches Venue 8 Pro And Venue 11 Pro Windows 8.1 Tablets In India

Dell Venue Pro Windows Tablet

Dell today announced Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro Windows tablets in India. Both these tablets runs on full Windows 8.1 powered by Intel processors.

Dell Venue 8 Pro:

  • Processor: Intel® Atom™ processor Z3740D (2MB Cache, up to 1.8GHz Quad-Core)
  • Display: 8.0 inch IPS Display with HD (WXGA 1280 x 800) resolution with 10-pt capacitive touch
  • Memory: 2GB Single Channel DDR3L-RS 1600MHz
  • Storage (hard drive): 32GB eMMC/64GB eMMC
  • 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front camera
  • Color: Black

Dell Venue 11 Pro:

  • Processor: Intel® Atom™ processor Z3740D (2MB Cache, up to 1.8GHz Quad-Core)
  • Display: 10.8 inch IPS Display with HD (WXGA 1920 x 1080) resolution with 10-pt capacitive touch
  • Memory: 2GB Single Channel DDR3L-RS 1600MHz
  • Storage (hard drive): 32GB eMMC/64GB eMMC
  • Color: Black

The Venue 8 Pro will be available starting next month at Rs 26,499 and the pricing of Venue 11 Pro has not yet been announced.

Both these devices can be bought with wide array of accessories,

o Dell Active Stylus makes it easy to annotate, draw or take notes.

o Dell Slim Keyboard, designed for travel, also serves as a cover for the screen when folded up.

o Dell Mobile Keyboard with integrated battery provides all day productivity with a full-sized keyboard while extending the battery life.

o Dell Tablet Desktop Dock for full productivity on a desk with USB 3.0 ports, and dual display out ports for display extension.

    Given Dell’s previous history of roll-outs it is prudent of them to stagger the release of new products. That said when the Dell Venue 8 Pro was released in the US, I had to wait a whole month before it became available to order in the UK.

    But.

    On ordering, the delivery date got pushed back twice AND on it finally shipping, it was shipped all the way from China Direct! If it’s only going to ship direct from the factory why not ramp up production (or add additional contractors) and open up the orders anyway?!

    What they are thinking… That W8 tablets are in the same league as iOS or Android?
