Dell XPS 11

Along with Acer and Asus, Dell announced a new Windows 8 convertible device called XPS 11. The new Dell XPS 11 functions similar to Lenovo Yoga 11s. You can flip the display 180 degrees to use it like tablet. Also the keyboard looks like a flat Surface keyboard.  On the internals, Dell one uped both Yoga 11 and Surface devices. It will come standard with a 2,560 x 1,440 IPS display, an active digitizer for pressure-sensitive pen input, Intel Core i5 Haswell processor, a USB 3.0, Thunderbolt and an SD card reader.

Availability of the device is expected only in Q4 2013.

Prices start at $799.99 for a Core i3 processor unit with 4GB of memory and a 128GB solid-state drive and run to $1,349.99 for a Core i7 model with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. The multi-touch HD screen offers a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels. The Yoga 11S comes with a 720p HD camera and a 4-cell rechargeable battery.

Dear Dell, HP and the rest of you,

Announce when you are ready to release. Until then, I do not care.

Not sure if I would care then the design is uninspiring..

Love it. The prototype unit shown at Computex did not have thunderbolt or the storage for stylus … those are coming in the final version. You are right about the keyboard, the keys don’t move. The keyboard will be backlit though. That’s a interesting approach and should yield a better feel in tablet mode over Yoga 11s. I wish Lenovo put active digitzer in Yoga 11s as well.

    What resolution does it have??

From the first paragraph, “It will come standard with a 2,560 x 1,440 IPS display”
From the 2nd paragraph, “The multi-touch HD screen offers a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels”

    “.. It will come standard with a 2,560 x 1,440 IPS display…
..The multi-touch HD screen offers a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels..”
    Umm…What just happened here?

The resolution of the Lenovo Yoga is 1366×768, for some reason some people seem to think that that last paragraph is about the Dell xps 11. For your information there is not yet any info on price details for the Dell xps 11.
