Excellent price for a full windows 8.1 Tablet.

32GB is not enough and there is lack of LTE or at least 3G.

For $229, you can’t expect to get everything.

What is the point of buying cheap tablet with tiny storage and without modem.
OK there is version with 64GB, but there is no version with modem.

Uh, Wi-Fi and use it at home?

        • nohone

Like I wrote, I bought two of them. I got a 32GB (for work) and 64GB (for home). When I am work, I am just taking notes with OneNote, and the occasional terminal server into my computer to check on builds. I don’t need 64GB for that. At home, where I also have a 64GB memory card, I have it filled with music, video, I download data, and so on.
We keep being told about how PC sales are down because of smart phone growth. If I carry a cell phone, why would I also need to carry a tablet with cell reception? If I am ever where WiFi is not, I use my phone.

Why should I use 8″ tablet at home where I have 15″ notebook with full size keyboard?

          • nohone

Because I want to. Simple as that. If you want to hold and carry around a 15″ notebook with full size keyboard while walking throughout the house, then more power to you. I don’t want to.
This morning while waiting for my bagel to toast, I held my 8″ Venue while leaning up against the counter, and read the news. I don’t want to use a laptop in that situation, and it was great.
I can extend your question – I have a desktop with a 3770, 16GB of memory, 512 SSD, a 30″ WQHD monitor. Why would I want to use a laptop with a much weaker CPU, GPU, less memory, etc? Could it be because different people have different needs, different situations why they would use different devices?

Tablets are just toys you can’t do any real work on them

that’s what apple has made u think. I have a surface pro, I am in my last yr of university and use nothing else. I also got an ipad as a gift a couple years ago and was so happy, until like u said I realized I couldn’t do work on it. I actually stopped using it for months until I came to terms with that and started using it as a time waster. that said how can a light weight device like this running full windows not be able to do real work? I think it is perfect for a student, good price incredibly light, just get a keyboard and perfect for taking notes and studying/reading

Why didn’t you just get a keyboard for your iPad…I and save 1000 bucks…I’m guessing your not going to have the class highest GPA. ;)

At home portability is key and more important than a full size keyboard plus you can use any Bluetooth keyboard with this.

I picked up a couple of these, one for work and one for home. Great device, the only problem is the pen can be too sensitive and will sometimes register clicks without touching the screen.

” which was a problem for me since I had an iPhone app that made enough to pay for my mini, but would not pay for a new one which was needed to install their dev tools to update it.”-nohone

Yet you go out and buy no one but two craptastic tablets…some would say your post is 100% full of BS, others would say just 99.43% full of it.

Dell Venue Pro was the best looking phone ever. I’ve expecting with tears in my eyes for 1 year a touch only version… MS was as always on the verge to spend $2b on a Dell vision Smartphone… Then from nowhere a single final blow on my faith in Dell arrived on the death black horse: Dell discontinued its smartphone/tablet division.
So. Screw. DELL.THEY are not serious.
