You can also view this as Microsoft fans waiting for XB1 while Sony fans cannot see the value of PS4.

You can look at it any way you like. You can look at it as all gamer sites, tech sites and whatever form of media giving xbox awful press due to the initial draconian restrictions the console was announced with. The jerks that were telling consumers to stuff it and buy another 360 if they had a problem with it and how long MS allowed that BS to go on.
If I am anything to go by I actually don’t care about the next generation of consoles as a whole as a result of this and I feel they are reserving the right to put those practices right back into play later down the line. I will be upgrading my PC instead getting a console. With the 360 I went to launch events and bought both MS consoles someone just told me there will be a launch event coming up at the Chicago cultural center soon and I just dismissed it. I could just be getting old I don’t know.
I didn’t post this comment as fanboy bait I am just saying as a consumer and gamer who loves technology this is just how I feel about the next generation of consoles and I think many hardcore gamers will look towards the PS4 come this holiday season while casual gamers will look towards the X1 at the price point of $100 more I think PS4 will do better out of the gate and X1 will catch up towards the half life of the consoles when about $300.

So they are paying the bad XOne publicity already in the old consoles…

Looks like it. Which is sad because the XBOX is an amazing console. But MS gamble will pay off guaranteed. They just got to get the message across. My 360 plays so nice with my PCs and phone. It just clicked to me while streaming a movie from PC to Xbox yesterday why the XBone is always on. I’m definitely getting it!

This is no big deal. The real story is how the console business as a whole is being smacked by mobile. Add to this fact that serious gamers are moving to PC the Console business has peaked.

The investment in the Xbox One may never offer MSFT any ROI.

When the PS3 was released, the 360 had already been out for a year. Sony fanboys were having a screaming fit because in the COD commercials, they would show the 360 logo, and not say anything about the PS3. They said that Microsoft paid off Activision, that Activision was misleading their customers making it look like it was only available for the 360, and more complaints.

Now Sony puts out a exclusive console with GTA, the commercials have the PS3 logo only at the end of the commercial. And because of it, Sony has a win for 1 out of 32 months (that is 3.125% – imagine if you got a 3.125% on a math test in school? You would get a big F for FAILURE). But where are those people who were once complaining, and why are they not complaining about this?
