Hotmail gets inline playback of mp3 attachments

Hotmail has added a new Active View – an inline MP3 player which allows users to preview music and audio files sent to them.

The file can then be downloaded or downloaded as a ZIP file.

The feature joins the inline viewing of video and image files, making the oldest and largest webmail service ever more useful.

This feature (a richer version of course) needs to be in SkyDrive where users have their data and sound files and not in Hotmail where one may merely receive one or two sound files in ages. MS also needs to start selling additional storage to SkyDrive users that max out.
