Lenovo Yoga 13 Ideapad user review

imageBlackwaterops posted the above user review of the Lenovo Yoga 13 Ideapad Windows 8 hybrid.

The well specified device comes with either a Core i3, i5 or i7 processor and either 4 or 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB SSD.

The reviewer above seems really like the device.  At its low price, do our readers think this is a better alternative than the Asus Taichi? Let us know below.

I agree it’s a great machine and I have a hard time putting it down. The memory upgrade is no problem, it’s right under the keyboard. Hard drive is another matter, it’s possible but more involved. It will not take a regular crucial ssd it’s smaller in size and a tad more expensive. http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=7B4242BAA5CA7304

That being said mine is on the way from crucial as I think Lenovo’s price for the 256gb upgrade(mid November rumored) will still be more expensive.

pretty nice but unless you absolutely need more than 128 GB or can’t wait till January why would you get this instead of the surface pro?

Its a different device with different capabilities, and for one, a bigger physical screen

This computer has 2 SSD bays. I will just buy another 128GB and add it as the second drive. Best Buy has already priced the 256GB Yoga at 1600.00. A 128GB from Crucial is 106.00. And how do I know about the second bay, because I took my Yoga apart and I take pictures for documentation for putting it back together.

Nice review. (I’m usually skeptical of some user reviews, but he nicely elaborated the pro’s and cons of the device).

I wish they had a larger screen version. I need a new laptop to develop WP8 apps, but want to jump into the Windows 8 goodness with multitouch while I’m at it. I would also prefer SSD. Even 14″ would be acceptable if the resolution is good, though I’ve had only 15″ laptops in the past.
