Microsoft Adds Bitcoin Rate Conversion Support To Bing

Bing Bitcoin Microsoft

Microsoft today announced that they have added Bitcoin rate conversion support in Bing. Just like how you do for country to country currency conversion, you can covert to Bitcoin using btc keyword.

For years, you have been able to convert currencies in Bing. Whether you’re looking to compare dollars to pounds, euros to pesos or yuan to rupee, we’ve got over 50 currencies in our index that we’ll display following a few quick keystrokes.

As Bitcoin (the peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency) makes headlines and captures the world’s attention, we thought it was only natural to give you an easy way to track real-time fluctuations. Starting today, you will find instant Bitcoin conversions at the top of your Bing results.* How many Bitcoins do you need for that $71,000 Tesla?

To check it out for yourself, head over to and try a search.

Bitcoins are geigh, just like my bung. I tried to buy some once so I could join a porn site for whackin. But I sent a PayPal to some slope in China, and never got the cashish. What happened? was I scammed? That’s why I dont trust the Chinese. If one of them rips you off, it means I condemn the entire nation of 9.3 trillion people. Plus how do you tell them apart? I sure can’t.

Well, in theory bitcoins are as efficient as (inter)national currencies, as for the fact that you sent money to China, which sounds like a noble deed I feel sad that it didn’t arrive. :-(

After the Apple situation smart decision by MS.

      smart trolling

      • Pookiewood

Trolling? ‘Scuse me? Apple shunning Bitcoin is a dumb idea. It’s in MS’s best interest to support Bitcoin which has been a great up and coming currency for some (those who really understand how it works). How the heck am I trolling? Who am I trolling Apple?

        • ZloiYuri

emmm… man, you confused me… That were a joke – if you will use my words instead yours it will be – After the Apple situation smart trolling by MS. Are you ok, dude? Any surgery? Lobotomy? Prozac? ) Relax, it were not up to you, just about happening.

that’s funny, cause just today I was explaining what bitcoin is to my girlfriend and I used Bing on my Windows Phone to search bitcoin, it immediately gave me the conversion to GBP on the first line. Subtle yet effective!

I just tried that, thanks for the tip. 😀

I do understand that Bitcoin is a potential ”replacement” for ”conventional” currencies, though I do not see how it’s different from giral-money, all my money is already in the Cloud, and my debit-card solves any possible lack of mobility it has to offer, so Bitcoin doesn’t give me any other advantages that automatic conversion does, also it flucuates more than standardized and centrally run/ran currencies so it’s less safe of a bet, though it could be more profitable in the right hands, it’s still not a great idea to replace a national currency in general.
