Microsoft yesterday announced the winners of the 2014 Microsoft Life Sciences Innovation Awards at the Drug Information Association’s (DIA) 50th annual meeting in San Diego. Microsoft is giving this award to recognize pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical resource organizations, and medical device companies that are leading the charge in scientific collaboration and innovation and they are doing it for past 9 years.

We’re always excited about giving out these awards because it’s an opportunity to highlight the achievements of life sciences companies that have streamlined processes to help speed therapeutic breakthroughs for serious health ailments using Microsoft products and technologies.

This year’s winners were selected by a panel of industry experts. They were chosen based on three criteria: how their innovation represents a breakthrough in the industry; whether it goes beyond incremental improvements on technologies that already exist; and how it improves the company’s ability to get safer, more efficacious products or services to market faster by reducing complexity, lowering cost, and enhancing the speed and quality of the process.
