They “forgot” to mention the category “Access to Google Services”, “Management of Apps for your android phone online”, etc. MS realised a bunch of innovations too late. If they want to catch up, they should concentrate on their business and close the technological gap. They are simply not in the position to compare their solutions with the ones of Google.

are you serious? Google services what? Why Ms have to support their services and android? Google does not support Office web app and wp. This is not a Ms gap..think before write

Yes like Hangar said are you serious?? I can bring in my Gmail emails into my Outlook account in a separate folder but cannot do it vice versa. Google is loosing it’s grip on everything because they are putting their hands into too many things.

The only gripe I have with Outlook at this time is that their website has to refresh itself a couple times before it’s usable, creating a delay before you can actually read any mail or do anything at all. I don’t see a reason for this. I use GMail as a secondary account and it loads SO much quicker.

And, on a different note, I can no longer chat with my Messenger contacts through winphone (7.8), no matter if I use Outlook, Live or Hotmail domain. I can only send e-mails. What gives?

That is because MS killed Messenger. They want you to use Skype now…

But that doesn’t make any sense, you can chat through the built in Messenger module on outlook.com AND Skype still differentiates between Skype/Messenger contacts. Messenger is integrated into the fucking OS, Skype isn’t! Microsoft needs to get their shit together, dude.

I have a Lumia 610 and I can’t even use Skype! Not even just for IMs!

You are sooooooo right. Microsoft needs to at least integrate Skype into Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 and not have a seperate app. If it is part of the Microsoft ecosystem then I should not have to leave one app to go to another when I have a Messaging HUB.

I’m experiencing this crash/refresh too, it’s damn annoying.

Just so you folks have something positive to like (1+ my comment, +1 my comment! ;D), I can just say Outlook is simply the best experience I have ever had. I have none of the problems these other commenters have. Mine outlook experience is fast, works well and has no hickups.

if you are lucky that doesn’t mean all 100% of other users are satisfied. there are always few who like different things. plus I tested outlook and had problem in mine with attachments the darn thing doesn’t attach the files sometimes.

      • GG002

Did I say it works well for everyone? No, I made a stark contrast comment to all other negative ones at the time of writing, since nobody else had said anything good about Outlook. Don’t read what’s not there.

Same here GG002. Its been a great experience and the gmail box I used to have as my primary is now my secondary junk email.

Maybe the others aren’t using IE10 (which I, without fanboyism, think is the best functioning browser).. I’ve incidentally had lots of problems with gmail when using IE, so another reason to boycott gmail (which I have ditched altogether.. it’s not even worth my spam).

    • vinod machani

same feelings here … Outlook is the best to use … but only one problem is some times outlook goes down for 2 or 3 days …..

I haven’t seen MS compair the Google voice and google text services :P those are the only 2 things I am sticking with gmail if MS get both of them hell ya i will switch eyes closed.

oh and they are missing the Theme option! I hate white background in websites / or in any content.

    • http://twitter.com/Makavelli_Jrw ♐Mr.InTernaTionaL♐

That is their biggest strength and only thing that they have to stand on. Once Microsoft gets Lync, Office 365, Skype, and Messenger all Integrated there will be no competition. .

Notice they don’t compare things like – nested labels, ability to search labels, labs, etc..

Finally a Microsoft marketing item that is simple and to the point!

I’m hoping Blue will upgrade Mail and add the features that coincide with Outlook.
