Microsoft Courier Concept Lives On As Apple iPad App ‘Paper’

7

We all know Microsoft killed off the Courier tablet concept before even launching the version 1 of the product. But the people behind it never let their ideas down and they left Microsoft to start a new company. Now they have launched a new app for Apple iPad called Paper which has many concepts what Courier showed us few years back. The app is now available for download from Apple iTunes. The app looks amazing and its a boon for creative people who would like to sketch their ideas wherever possible. Check the video above.

Find the app here.

This seem to be targeting a very small crowd of DIY passionista artists with compulsive needs of always having a paint set available. It’s not for me :) And it’s definately no Courier. Microsoft probably have that beauty locked-down hard by patents and NDA + anti-competitive contracts with these developers, even though it never made it into retail while they were still working for MS ;)

      It is
nothing like Courier! Also I cannot see any iFans using a Stylus simply because
iJobs said so. It would be like an iPhone with bigger screen than 3.5″.
The world will crack up if that happens.

I was going to be prepared to be sad. However while there are some ideas of the Courier this is not really the courier. Although I seriously wish Microsoft would come up with courier or at least release an app that works like it.

Looks well-done but tedious.  I don’t see much courier in it though.  I think of Courier as the two screen tablet
