Microsoft Discontinues Wireless Keyboard Adapter For Type Covers

6

During Surface 2/Surface Pro 2 launch, Microsoft revealed a wireless adapter for the Surface Type Covers, which transform the keyboard into a Bluetooth enabled device for wireless typing. Connect any Surface Typing Cover to Surface using Bluetooth® wireless technology. Type emails from the couch while Surface is plugged into your TV, or work collaboratively in the conference room.

Wireless Adapter for Typing Covers:

The Wireless Adapter for Typing Covers connects magnetically to any Touch or Type Cover, letting you type from anywhere in the room using Bluetooth technology, so it is even easier to connect Surface to a TV or monitor and type from another location, such as the couch. Wireless Adapter for Typing Covers will have an estimated retail price of $59.99.

Microsoft has now quietly discontinued the product due to poor response. Microsoft said, “Due to a number of factors, we are no longer manufacturing the Surface Wireless Keyboard Adapter.”

What!? I didn’t even know it was being sold!!! So now where do I buy it?

nice idea, but $60 is too expensive when you can buy a Bluetooth keyboard for half that. If it was $25 or $30, then it might have been worth it.

discontinued due to poor respons???? Hell, I have ‘t even seen it sold anywhere nest my country! I would love one, but then it would have to be made available. This in my opinion is an unfortunate and premature conclusion by Microsoft. And where the Hell are the power covers. Also seen them little in stock in the country! Not even seen one review yet on the interwebs!

There was a Bluetooth keyboard adapter? How about a keyboard that goes has Bluetooth built in you can use when you disconnect it from the Surface? Add more value to the $120 keyboard price.

I never saw these for sell at the San Francisco Microsoft Store and they haven’t been in stock online for months. I really wanted one of these. Yes you can get Bluetooth keyboards but I liked the idea of have just one multiuse accessory, Plus it has the charms buttons, backlit, and trackpad. I’m very disappointed and hope I can find one before it becomes completely impossible.
