Microsoft Finally Adds Search By Image Feature To Bing

Bing Image Match 1

Microsoft today announced a cool feature on Bing Image search. It was a long awaited feature and users should be happy that it is finally here. You can now search by image on Bing. Upload your image or provide an URL of an image to Bing, Bing will search for similar images on the web.

Searching for the right image can be tough. After sorting through hundreds of images, you finally find a picture you like but unfortunately it’s low resolution or an odd dimension leaving you to go back to scrolling through the results pages. To take the hassle out of this process we’re introducing a new feature that allows you to match an image in a few simple clicks.

How does it work?

Now when you’re browsing images you will see a button at the bottom of the page that reads “Image Match.”

When you click on the button, Bing will show you a list of different size images that you can then narrow down by size.

If you come across an image online and want to find more examples, hit ‘image match’ near the search box on and paste the specific image URL. Alternatively, if you have a popular or well-known picture on your computer that you want to match, you can also upload directly to and we’ll match the results.

This was literally the ONLY reason why I even went back to get Scroogled now and then, but now I can finally go 100% for Bing. 😀 ¡¡¡Hell YEAH!!! I can’t count the number of times that I’ve requested this in the feedback for Bing as a suggestion, it’s just so awesome that we’ll finally have this too. 😀 Thank you Microsoft. :’-( *manly tear*

Same here, I never go to google anymore except to search for images. Somehow this is better too since it doesn’t give you false hope by showing all of the ones that are visually similar and never what you really want.

The only reason to use Google now is for the Maps… Here in Brazil, sadly, Google Maps are the best to know bus routes…
