Microsoft Giving Away Surface Pro and 8-inch Acer Iconia W3 Windows 8 Tablet For Build 2013 Attendees

Acer Iconia W3

During BUILD keynote yesterday, Microsoft announced that each of the BUILD attendees will get a Surface Pro and 8-inch Acer Iconia W3 Windows 8 tablet.

To go along with the keynote announcement about the Windows 8.1 Preview, developers were told they’re getting the first 8-inch Windows tablet — the Intel AtomTM Z2760 processor-based Acer Iconia W3. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, they found out they’re also getting a Microsoft Surface Pro, which leverages the 3rd generation Intel Core processor.

These devices offer developers the chance to jump right into building Windows 8.1 apps for a variety of devices. Build attendees will also receive 100 GB of extra storage for one year on SkyDrive, which makes it easy to store and access their files from anywhere.

I will never understood why MS is not renting/selling SkyDrive Storage Space directly from SkyDrive App. Or dirrectly from the SkyDrive web page… with a single “click”… or from the SkyDrive PC App.

1: Submit a request to buy 100GB to SkyDrive from your account.
2: Automatically increase the storage on the account (WriteOnly). No Delete/Read/ReWrite Permissions.
3: Sending an eMail with payments options (credit card, paypal, direct transfer – account, in-app-purchase …)
4: After Confirming the payment the account is fully unlocked.
    5. No payment – the account is frozen and after 30 days is deleted.

    Seems rather simple…no? well it’s not…yet.
