Microsoft Launches Project Spark Closed Beta

4

You may recall Microsoft invited gamers to sign-up for closed Project Spark beta testing shortly after the game was previewed at E3 in June.  Hundreds of thousands of fans have signed up for the closed beta, which has begun rolling out today.  Starting exclusively on Windows 8.1 and available to fans on Xbox One early next calendar year, registered beta participants are welcomed to a dynamic community where players create and creators play.  The beta for both platforms will continue until the product launch next year.

“Project Spark” is an endless adventure where everything is customizable.  Jump into an open world sandbox where players can create their own games, movies, stories and more and then share them with family, friends, and the world.

  • Play what other creators have made and take part in unlimited adventures.
  • Make games while playing with the revolutionary Crossroads mode.
  • Bend, shape, and mold worlds with sculpting and beautify creations with paints and biomes.
  • Master the easy-to-use brain system to add behaviors to anything and bring creations to life.

There is still time to sign up for beta at http://projectspark.com.

They should also release it for Windows P.C.’s in the Windows Store just to show off that Windows 8 isn’t bad for gaming, and is actually way better.

It is for PC’s. And going by the the uptake on ‘Steam’, I’m fairly sure gamers already know how good Windows 8.1 is!

The beta is for Windows 8.1, becuase it needs Windows 8 store, and some 8.1 features. i wont be for Windows 7 because it wont be a desktop game. so yeah, they are doing what you are saying.
also Xbox one beta will be until early next year, so its alot of time for people to upgrade to get in the Windows beta. and upgrade their systems for 8.1 if they want to.

Its not “closed” per say, its Open but they are adding few people in waves… but they hope within some weeks everyone would be in beta.
today i was angry of seeing in their stream they showing the beta website in Chrome, also I dont like they havent said anything about RT support, and also their paid content method and the credits and all that seem silly and kind of stupid, I understand why they did it but somehow it seems like not the kind of “game” I thought it would be.
