As per latest reports, Microsoft is planning to enter Korea’s search engine market in a full-fledged way in the second half of this year. When Microsoft launched Bing in 2009, Bing was launched in beta in Korea. Microsoft partnered with local technology company Daum Communications to improve its search results. Till now, the service remains almost the same from which was launched 5 years back. Microsoft is now looking to change this by entering the marketing with a aggressive push with strengthening its cooperation with Daum Communications while boosting its own Bing service. Microsoft is also planning to bring Bing News, Bing Images and more to Korean market by partnering with local companies.

Microsoft has been preparing its crucial “News” category in cooperation with domestic journals, producing a new title to its name – “Bing News.” It also unveiled the plan to expand partnerships with various domestic companies for diverse services including videos and images. Microsoft Korea established a partnership with Daum for search ads in April last year, denoting its entrance into the domestic search ad market.
