Microsoft Publishes 3D Builder App For Windows 8 Devices

Microsoft has showed strong support for 3D printing with Windows 8.1 by building a class driver for 3D printers.  The  company has recently published an app that allows users to make slight modifications from a library of 3D objects including simple toys, household items, miniatures and seasonal objects.  The app can also load exisiting CAD project, but cannot create object from scratch.

“The main focus here was having success quickly with 3D printing,” explained Microsoft’s Shanen Boettcher.

    now all I need its a 3d printing haha…. but anyway, I dont need an App like this since Lightwave3d supports 3d printing as well so this App wasnt essential BUT its nice to have an app like this in WinRT even if its only for x86-64 and not ARM, its still nice for the store, hope we can see more 3d apps in store.

    WTF 3D may be nice but why don’t ms concentrate on regular printing for windows phone. I think its a damn shame that WP 7 or 8 can’t connect to a simple network printer. Shame on you Microsoft. Shame on you.
