Microsoft SkyDrive Gets New Logo And Minor Updates For Windows App

Microsoft today announced few updates on its cloud storage service SkyDrive. First, the service has got its new logo which you can see above. Its now clean and simple than ever before. Also after this update, when you click SkyDrive in the system tray, a small status window appears. It lets you know if SkyDrive is up to date, and gives you the time at which SkyDrive was last updated. Along with this, performance, reliability, and compatibility of SkyDrive has also been improved.

huh…That looks like a weather app.

cloudy with chances of sun shine?

well the old icon was a cloud
and since you are going to upload your file to the cloud then its going to be a cloud icon 😛

i like the new icon more its Metrofied

Yeah. but the old one has a curved line, which I think as a “link.”

Nothing to lose sleep about, the change was expected. but I was hoping for some clear differentiation here. The cloud is just…too generic for many other uses.

I like the old logo much better. I agree with Redtidal, it looks like a weather app logo

      I agree.

Same here. And with Sky in the name it’s closer to a weather app. Someone needs to go back to the drawing board.

Can someone please tell Microsoft that local caching is a critical feature? I’m tired of hitting the web for every document! SLOW!!
