Microsoft Surface gets a 30 inch drop test, also video camera quality test

imageThe Surface team posted the above video of a 30 inch drop test of a Surface tablet onto a hardwood floor.

It is no surprise the Vapor Magnesium ensconced device survived the fall. More interesting however is that the video was captured by the Surface camera, and looks pretty good, even in 1080P HD.

The device is now on pre-order, and appears so far to be selling well, with rumours that Microsoft is looking to sell 3-5 million over the next 3 months.

The quality of the video is Great! (It took me a moment to realise that the video was from the device itself. I kept waiting for the cameraman to shift perspective!)

Did that many employees really need to watch the test? No wonder this took three years to create.
