Microsoft Tag Adds Support For QR Code And NFC

Microsoft today announced the extension of various new tag format support in Microsoft Tag platform. Microsoft has added support for two commonly used 2D barcode formats (Tag and QR Codes) and even Near Field Communications (NFC) capabilities. This allows advertisers to choose the format most appropriate for their campaigns and give consumers the ease of one reader to use.

    Good to see this!  These moves help to democratize the process toward creating standards for all as opposed to pushing multiple proprietary codecs to the consumer.  Good move Microsoft.
