Microsoft Warns Not To Get Scroogled By A Chromebook (Video)

21

You may recall Ben Rudolph from the “Smoked By Windows Phone” campaign.  Microsoft has dispatched him again, this time to talk to people on the street about Chromebooks.  Rudolph compares the Chromebook to a similarly priced Asus Transformer Book T100 running Windows 8.  I am really enjoying Microsoft being more aggressive against Google.

My favorite part is at ~0:40 seconds in :p

The fact that Microsoft are doing this campaign means they are worried about chromebooks.

The only advantage Chromebooks have are the irritating commercials they have at the start of each YouTube video.

There simplicity is their major advantage. Not just as in use but administration. Open the lid and your sending that important email instantly.

I’m a fan of MS but this isn’t a good look for them.

    • grs_dev

Why not? Ford and Chevy do it all the time

      • Lou_Sasshole

That doesn’t mean that it makes them look good though.

This is a war for market share and mind share. Everything is fair in a war. You worry about survival first in a war, good looks come later.

Why is Microsoft wasting money on this Chrome book bashing marketing?? Don’t they have struggling tablets to push or market?? Can’t believe I actually care.

    • Nham Thien Duong

Exactly, they’re giving this almost unknown and often hated machine free publicity by making it a marter, no-one really cares about Chromebooks and there are cheaper low-end Windows P.C.’s that give everyone a way better service, so Microsoft should push those rather than bash Scroogle’s Chromebooks.

      • freeman

The reason is simply Microsoft’s markets are being squeezed on all sides. Tablets are eating into the consumer market. Google Drive into the office market. Chromebooks now own 30% of the low end laptop market. However Google are using them to along with Google Apps for Education to get a foothold into the education market.

      • grs_dev

The Chromebook is not hated in the most cutting edge markets. They are not running these commercials on TV or main stream media. They’re placing them on social media and the web. They are doing a good job at speaking and irritating the Chromebook fans.

    • grs_dev

Because they are a devices and services company now. The Chromebook is a competing device. It pretends to be a PC and that it can do virtually anything your current PC can do but for much cheaper which is not actually correct.

That is so staged it is embarrassing………….1st two things Photoshop and illustrator………if you want to use those, buy a mac.

I think MS would be better fixing that POS that is called windows 8 than trash talking the competition

    • Nham Thien Duong

Macs are P.O.S.’s, Windows 8 is awesome, it’s quicker/faster and more secure than any previous version of Windows or any version of any competitor (including Linux and UNIX based crap).

    • DigTheNoise

Buy a Mac so you can run Photoshop and Illustrator O.o ?
