Microsoft today announced that Xbox One is launching in November 2013. The new Xbox One comes with new Kinect and new Xbox controller as well. Xbox One now features high-end graphics, much improved Kinect tracking, voice recognition, new software UX and more.

“Xbox has always had something to say. It’s always been bold with a strong personality,” said Carl Ledbetter, Creative Director, Industrial Design. “Xbox One needs to serve our most loyal gaming fans and deliver unique entertainment experiences, so its design has to make an appropriate statement that reflects its capability as an all-in-one entertainment system.”

Also to add it’s $499 US or 499 Euros

    • Ruzzy

      or £429

      • jgerb0

        You’re right, my bad

    • John

I was hoping to get one when it comes out but if it is $499 I think I pass for now. I was hoping more like $299 to $349. Seems like I will have to keep my Xbox 360 longer.

300-350? really in this day and age

      • jgerb0

Inflation man INFLATION, plus a kinect sensor. It’s reasonable

        • John

You are right! I Totally forgot that Kinect Sensor is included.
With that I still think $399 would be a much better price for start than $499.

          • jgerb0

I’m with you there trust me, any money less is great lol

  • Walshicus

Price is ridiculous. The launch price increase from 360 to Xbox One is 25% in the US. In the UK it’s 67%. Absolutely baffling, and no way in hell I can even think about buying one at that price.

    “much improved Kinect tracking”

did you mean much improved NSA-tracking functionality built into the spy-module called Kinect? I would really love to do some packet capturing running through an everyday living room session, when xbox and kinect is SUPPOSED to be off, but you are pretending like talking about assasination of Obama. Wondering how many minutes would be needed until the swat breaks your door and arrests you. Talking about “we respect your privay” bs.

mhmmm yes that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Microsoft will build a nice little building and watch you play forza in their boxers

      • soder

Did you actually read what I wrote? Nobody gives a sh*t when you are playing Forza. Read it as a deployed high quality microphone + webcam in most of the homes. If you ever read 1984 from Orwell, you would recognize some unpleasant similarities with that book.

I see, deflect the issue at hand. Nobody cares about where you are, but Apple is still recording your GPS location and sending it to them. Nobody gives a sh*t about you asking Siri for the local pizza shop, but Apple is recording that info, saving it on their servers, where they can give it to the NSA for the information it contains. Can you guarantee that the NSA is not opening the mic on your iPhone or Android, and recording what you are saying and sending it back to them? But you only want to blame Microsoft when this is a problem with all devices.

What did you do with your iPhone/Android device? They have cameras, microphones, Apple has said that they record you and store what you say. Apple sends your GPS location back to them, even if you have it turned off. Apple/Google is also working with the NSA. Have you thrown away your iPhone/Android because of how that phone is tracking your every move?
