Microsoft: Xbox One Won’t Support 3D Blu-ray Playback At Launch

Microsoft has added Blu-ray disc support in Xbox One, but that doesn’t mean that Microsoft will also support 3D Blu-ray playback. Microsoft has confirmed to CNET that Xbox One won’t support 3D Blu-ray playback at launch.

When I first read this news, I was like, “Does it really matter?”. First of all, there are very few 3D Blu-ray content available right now and it can be played only on a appropriate 3D TV setup. However, people with lots of 3D Blu-ray content would be disappointed at this news. According to Sony,¬† the PS4 system supports 3D gameplay at launch in North America on day one, though no launch titles are currently 3D compatible.
