New Marketing Videos From Microsoft Makes Fun Of Google Apps

Microsoft’s latest marketing videos makes fun of Google Apps. Google which competes with Microsoft on cloud based productivity software is pitching light weight versions of Word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software with more collabration features against Microsoft Office. The real problem comes to the enterprise adoption when Google makes changes to the service without notice which was depicted in the ad above. And another important loss in using Google Apps is the compatibility with Microsoft Office suite which was told in another ad above.

Well done, Microsoft.

For the record, this isn’t anti-Google.  It’s just showing that Google Apps in comparison to Office/Office Web apps is a lesser experience for businesses in these particular ways.

MS has no competitor to YouTube and, if they were smart, would leave that one alone completely.

Nobody in their right mind would ever go directly up against YouTube, since running YouTube itself is losing a shit ton of money.

Yeah and I watched that Youtube clip on Chrome browser on my Windows machine, so what?

(for the record, I prefer IE9 but at work we are not allowed to upgrade from IE8)

Yup. YouTube was the best acquisition Google ever made.

Soo true, my company uses google apps and everyone hates them but we have to use them cos the IT guys are Google fans and Anti-Microsoft. Crazy!

Wow sorry to hear that. I’ve been trying to convine my father to use office 365 for his office but he won’t listen…

sounds like you need to fire your IT guys.

I think alot of IT departments are now using Google apps with android since they work so well together and rock solid.

Android & Google Apps is the New Exchange I think.

At first at thought these were simply MS trolling Google, but they actually turned out to be pretty informative too.  Not bad.

sigh, posted on Youtube, a google service, this doesn’t really help their case

    • Ian

Since when did YouTube become productivity software? In fact, its the complete opposite.

      Moot point is, well, moot.

I really wish people would stop saying this for EVERY MS video there is.  Youtube is the dominant video site so MS will post to it, get over it.  Just like Windows is the dominant OS which is why Google makes Chrome browser for it among other products.

I tried Office 365, but it went down do many times I switched to Google Apps and Had NO downtime. That was last year maybe things have improved, I dunno, but I think its a bit rich slagging off competition when your own product is not reliable. It should have been called Office 328

    • Emi Cyberschreiber

      rightttttttt

      • Gary

Office 365 was down for 330 minutes in August and Sept ALONE in 2011……………………

Why do you think MS handed out compensation.

I need a service I can depend on.

330 minutes is 5.5 hours out of a total of 1464 hours to be possibly up in those 2 months, that comes out to about .004% downtime, with over 99% uptime. That sounds a lot better when compared to 330 minutes, quit trolling.

    • Harchestr

Yeeeaaaah right…. I bet you never even used Office 365… Probably don’t have it on your computer… That is the only reason why you are using Google docs.
