New Windows Ad Emphasizes New Windows Devices(Video)

Microsoft has posted a new ad on their Windows youtube page.  The ad features a number of devices including an 8-inch Toshiba Encore tablet, the HP Split X2, a Surface 2, a Dell XPS 18, and the Nokia 2520.  A few features are highlighted with text with each of the devices.  Microsoft is clearly trying to emphasize the variety of devices for your particular lifestyle along with a consistent experience.

The song featured in the ad is called “Universal” by Eighty (http://soundcloud.com/joshone/eighty-universal)

    You have to wonder what the reception to Windows 8 would’ve been a year ago had these devices been available…

      Yeah, but you can say that about anything. The reality is Intel didn’t have the processor tech to deliver these devices last year.

        It’s so weird the way that in the past, the processors were there and software wasn’t, and now the tables have turned! If anything it goes to show that Microsoft is getting serious and a great part of the rest of the world can’t keep up.

          It’s always been the case that Microsoft develops, and the OEM’s have hardly ever been able to keep up!

            Well, I still think Microsoft has shifted into another gear lately with Windows 8! In the past, OEMs had no trouble following or staying ahead of Microsoft’s development, always having hardware to sell right when Microsoft needed them to sell.. but the various form factors also weren’t there when Windows 8 would have needed them to be. That’s why the world was taken by surprise, because for the first time in a very long time (if ever?) the OEMs couldn’t innovate fast enough. But thankfully they have caught up now.
