Report: Microsoft Is Planning To Expand Xbox LIVE To iOS And Android Games

A new report from The Verge claims that Microsoft is planning to bring Xbox LIVE support to iOS and Android games. Currently, Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox games offers achievements, friend lists, and game matchmaking. Microsoft is planning to expand it to other platforms as well.

Over the last weekend, we reported about Microsoft’s plan for cross-platform games. Microsoft is claiming that they are renewing the focus on gaming and game development technologies. Also, Microsoft is working on a  modern framework that is open source, light-weight, extensible and scalable across various platforms including Windows Store, Windows Phone, iOS and Android.

    This is a bit double, it would mean that Windows Phone will lose their exclusivity in having tonnes of Xbox LIVE products, but this would also encourage people to create Microsoft-accounts (Xbox LIVE-accounts). :-
