Report: Zynga’s Don Mattrick Looked To Buy Zynga While He Was At Microsoft


According to a report from Bloomberg, former VP of IEB unit at Microsoft Don Mattrick looked to buy Zynga while he was at Microsoft. Don Mattrick is now no longer working for Microsoft because he went to become the CEO of online gaming company Zynga.

It was reported today that Don has been hankering to run all or part of the social-gaming company for at least three years. In fact, Mattrick even negotiated with Zynga founder Mark Pincus about buying the maker of such popular games as “FarmVille,”. He was planning to bloster Xbox LIVE community with Zynga’s social games.

    Honestly, that would’ve been awesome, gaining Xbox LIVE gamer-points as rewards and achievements for CityVille, CitiVille 2, FarmVille and FarmVille 2 😀
