‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ Coming To Xbox One Next Year As An Exclusive

Rise of Tomb Raider Xbox One

Microsoft today surprised everyone by announcing that Rise of the Tomb Raider game will be exclusive to Xbox One. This game will be available next year for the holiday season.

Crystal Dynamics, the developer behind the game posted the following information regarding their exclusive partnership with Microsoft,

“Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011. We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past – we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft.”

I’m happy because I’m on XBONE… Sorry Sony

This is the same that Sony did with the MetalGear for years

I wish we have God Of war and Infamous on XBONE…

So a game I would have got on pc is no longer going to happen thanks MS and Square. A real win win :/

I wonder when MS will do anything other than port tablet games to pc? They have let their platform die (windows live, which Im glad about It was incredibly badly made and maintained.) They have let their pc offerings wither letting competition grow massively see steam et al .
They need to stop saying every few years that they have great plans for pc and actually do something for once. Windows 9 lead up would be a great time to do this to help counter the negative pr from windows 8 (which I like btw) But so far nothing and I cant see it changing. To prop up xbox they becoming increasingly short sighted.

It would also be nice to have some journalist push them on this but no game site or indeed MS news site ever seems to.
