At All Things D conference today, Microsoft’s Windows division President Steven Sinofsky is going to talk on Windows 8. I’ll be updating more info on his talk as the event happens.
Its confirmed that there will be a demo, because Microsoft guys are setting up tablet like displays .
Hope its not just a demo of Windows.next running on ARM chips as they showed at CES.

Walt: How do you feel about not being in the gang of four that’s running the
Sinofsky: You know I’m watching it and feeling like the guy who’s in the race
and not winning it.
We definitely missed the iPhone — we didn’t do that one.”
On iPad- We aren’t there yet, but we’ll get to some of that today.
Sinofsky talks about how Tablet PC and Media Center were other examples of how
the company has evolved Windows along the way.
Walt points out that those were two failures.
Windows 8 won’t require any more hardware oomph (memory, disk space graphics, etc) than Windows 7
“A word we used a lot in developing it is ‘modern’ ”
Walt: And every program that runs in Windows 7 will run in Windows 8?
Sinofsky: It’s Windows. Everything just runs
To log in now, you swipe up from the botton. Windows now looks like Windows Phone..same live tiles concept.
Can access native Windows with a touch.
Native Windows UI available all the time.
Multitasking between both the worlds.
Will speak more about apps on BUILD conference.
The UI hints at Windows Store, Video call integrations,etc.
The touch input in normal Windows UI is improved using some fuzzy technique.
