Bing’s Facebook fan page had a huge boost from the latest marketing activity. The number of fans grew five fold from 100,000 to 500,000 (425,000 fans added in a single day exactly). The spike was due to the promotional activity run by DeepFocus on behalf of Microsoft. Ian Schafer, CEO of DeepFocus on this promotion, "We know that social environments tend to have more meaningful engagement with the Bing product,It’s important for us to engage people who are engaging with other people." Microsoft on this promotion, “Microsoft’s social media team has crafted Facebook updates designed to cater to FarmVille users. Today it sent out an update reading, “Any FarmVille fans out there?
