Microsoft yesterday revealed that “Microsoft Cookbook” has won the third Gourmand World Cookbook award. It won this time in the Corporate category at the event held in Wednesday in Beijing. The cookbook, comprised of recipes from Microsoft employees around the world, also won for best Publisher/Printing, and tied for best Charity/Fundraising cookbook in 2013. The “Microsoft Cookbook” is as much an art book for the coffee table as it is a receptacle for recipes with eye-catching photography front and center. It also includes the stories behind the dishes, told by individual Microsoft employees: a lasagna recipe that took 30 years to perfect, the smell of apple pie and the indelible memory of a grandmother’s baking. “It’s as much about community and tradition as it is about food,” says Colin McCaig, who compiles the book along co-author with Erica Wadley. “The cookbook showcases the unique voice of the Microsoft employee base.” ...
