The ‘FutureBrand Index’ is a from brand consultancy FutureBrand, sanctioned by Global Top 100 Companies creator PwC, measures perceptions of brand strength through in-depth quantitative research among thousands of consumers worldwide. FutureBrand Index 2014 list was released today and Microsoft was ranked No.2 in it. Google toped the list with Walt Disney and Apple taking No.3 and No.4 positions respectively. Every July 4th on Independence Day, there will be a spike in people across the US who search for “fireworks” on Bing. Microsoft Bing team decided to study the data to get new insights about it. For that, they created a “firework index” which is the number of searches containing the phrase “fireworks” divided by the total number of searches (for a given location on a given day) and they take this index as correlating to the general level of interest in fireworks. Find the result below. The striking thing you can notice is that southern portion of the country has a relatively mild interest in the fireworks. The least interested fireworks enthusiasts call Louisiana and Mississippi home. Microsoft Bing team today announced a new feature called Timeline that will appear to the right of the search results page along with other Snapshot contents. This new feature called “Timeline” allows you to know the important events in the timeline of influential or famous people’s lives. In the case of Henry Ford, we highlight several events of Henry’s life including his marriage and early career of farming and running a saw-mill in 1888, incorporating the Ford Motor Company in 1903, and his retirement from the company in 1918. Another timely example of this can be found around Olympic athletes.
